Chris_Millan: In chapter 32, Jane is more familiar and more attached to her students. Jane becomes popular among them. Jane teaches her students elements of Grammar, Geography, History, and Fine kinds of needlework. But even with all that, Jane still has nightmares that involve Mr. Rochester. Why is she having these Dreams constantly? Does Jane regret when she decided to leave Mr. Rochester? Would she throw all of this away to start over?
Well I think that Jane is still stuck on Mr. Rochester because she still has dreams about him and Sinjin and Rosamond's relationship reminds her of her and Mr. Rochester's relationship. She thinks that she has moved on, but she didn't in my perspective.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Jane is thinking of Mr. Rochester as foreshadowing to the later part of the book. I do think that she is still stuck on him, but not enough to run back to him. Jane's relationship to St. John is quite different with Mr. Rochester because St. John doesn't have honesty problems like Mr. Rochester. I like what Chris said about Mr. Rochester because this confuses the reader, it makes us want to think that Mr. Rochester is going to come back and be perfect for her. Though I do believe that this is some sort of foreshadowing, I am not sure if it has anything to do with Mr. Rochester and Jane getting together.
